Rain

Rain is a moody indie rock/pop song about depression caused by a relationship breakdown. The man of the couple walks away believing that he's going to be ok but soon finds out that he's not! The rain references in the song are motifs for the depression caused by the breakdown.

The track features a powerful bass line played by honorary gardener Mel D who hails from Argentina. A melodic guitar and dark synth sounds are played by Danny (from Scotland). Inês Rebelo's (from Portugal) vocal whilst gentle and melancholic in the verses is more haunted and pleading in the choruses.

Some reviews of Rain....

“Their entire discography is littered with dark, delicate lyricism and otherworldly sound. ‘Rain’ is simply another gem to add to an already diamond-coated musical catalogue.”

“At the centre of the track is Inês Rebelo’s captivating vocal performance. Her delivery moves effortlessly between restraint and vulnerability, embodying the song’s shifting emotional landscape. In the quieter passages, she sings with a delicate sadness, as though recounting memories that still feel painfully close. As the song develops, her voice becomes increasingly urgent, carrying a sense of longing that gives the chorus its emotional pull.”

“Deep basslines, shadowy guitars, and ghostly vocals turn “Rain” into a dark and emotionally absorbing experience where heartbreak, depression, and emotional exhaustion become a deeply introspective sonic landscape.”

“The real focal point, however, is the vocal performance from Inês Rebelo. Her delivery captures the song’s emotional complexity beautifully. In the verses, she conveys vulnerability through subtle phrasing and controlled emotion, while the choruses introduce a greater sense of longing and uncertainty”
